Privacy
In short. Your recordings never leave your Mac. To write your notes, Peachlark sends the meeting's transcript text to its notes service and keeps none of it. We collect a few anonymous counts to see whether the app works, and you can turn them off. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
What stays on your Mac
- Audio. Your microphone and the meeting app's sound are saved on your Mac only. Peachlark never uploads audio.
- Transcripts. Speech is turned into text on your Mac, with speech models that run locally.
- Your meetings. Notes, action items, decisions, your own typed notes and marked moments are files on your Mac. Delete any meeting at any time.
- Names on the call. If you allow Accessibility or Screen Recording, Peachlark reads participant names from the meeting window on your Mac. Screenshots are never saved or sent; only the names are kept with the meeting.
- Calendar. If you connect Calendar, Peachlark reads the current event's title and attendees on your Mac to name the meeting.
- Search. Meetings can appear in your Mac's Spotlight; you can turn this off in Settings.
What leaves your Mac, and why
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| A meeting's transcript text (never audio) | To write your notes, titles and answers to your questions | Peachlark's server (Cloudflare), then OpenAI. Peachlark doesn't store it. You can switch to notes written on your Mac in Settings › Notes. |
| Your name and email, when you request access | To send your invite and download link | Peachlark's database (Cloudflare) |
| Anonymous daily counts: number of meetings and minutes, meeting app, language, whether notes and names worked, how long notes took, app version and Mac model | To see whether Peachlark works and what to fix | Peachlark's database, under a random ID that isn't linked to your name. Turn off in Settings › Privacy & Data. |
| Crash reports: technical details when the app crashes | To fix crashes | Peachlark's database. Never your meetings. Turn off in Settings › Privacy & Data. |
| Feedback you send, and your email if you add it | To read and reply | Peachlark's database. Diagnostics are included only if you tick the box. |
| An update check | To tell you when a new version is out | Peachlark's server |
OpenAI processes transcript text only to write your notes. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API isn't used to train their models; OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes them.
Peachlark also downloads its speech models once from public model hosts. That's an ordinary download; none of your data is sent.
This website
peachlark.com is served by Cloudflare and uses Google Fonts, so both see ordinary request details such as your IP address. The site has no ads and no tracking cookies.
Recording other people
Recording laws differ by place, and many require that everyone on a call knows it's being recorded. Peachlark reminds you when a recording starts and offers a message you can paste into the meeting chat. You're responsible for getting any consent your local law requires.
How long we keep things
Your meetings stay on your Mac until you delete them; deleted meetings are removed for good after 30 days. Your name and email stay on our list until you ask us to remove them. Transcript text sent for notes isn't stored by Peachlark.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you by writing to hello@peachlark.com. Everything on your Mac is under your control: Settings › Privacy & Data › Reset Peachlark erases it all.
Children
Peachlark isn't meant for anyone under 16.
